On top of that, it works well enough that you can immediately update it to Sierra or whatever the newest version may be once bought. This was probably the best "refurbished item" I've come across. Mine did not have any dead pixels, scratches ect. It runs smoothly, the retina display is amazing. I am so glad I did, I am a graphic design major and I love this. Overall Review: Honestly I was nervous, with only two reviews I didn't know whether to buy or not. It was still a decent buy, but it's not the steal I thought it was. The battery had 41 cycles on it - still in "normal" condition according to Mac. Overall Review: First impression: I don't think these specs can be beaten for this price. I got a new battery and a new retina screen with no scratches at all as opposed to the very small scratch that was on there before.
Turn out the battery had begun to swell and the retina screen was no longer turning on.
The price was about $600 which was the exact amount of money I felt I was saving by buying from New Egg instead of using a competitor that starts with A and reminds me of the rainforest. New impression: I bought this in March 2017 and in July 2017 I had to take it in to the Apple Store to be repaired as it wouldn't turn on or stay on once turned on for longer than 5 minutes. This is likely what a new trackpad might feel like. After tax, and ordering the charger this came out to around $1200 - so 33% less!Ĭons: First impression: The track pad seems slightly harder to click with than I remember my old Mac being but it's definitely still functional. The same computer on was going for $1800 on a very popular competitor. Pros: Here was my first impression: I was a little worried about ordering this because this deal is incredible and I thought it may be too good to be true.
